If science is about exploring unsolved phenomenon, math is about calculating how those phenomenon work. The beautiful merger between science and math is prevalent in many careers.

And a degree in applied mathematics can land you in any industry that focuses on development, strategy, research and problem solving: the military, medical research, pharmaceuticals, the government, agriculture or aeronautics.

At the beginning of your career or as a career building move, there are a number of online degrees available. In both fields, most employers expect at least a four year bachelors. For academia and research masters and PhDs are an expected qualification.
